Rough game the Phillies lost today. Rollins was back in the leadoff spot, but went 1-5 and left 4 on base. Hamels looks to be back, nine strikeouts and completed seven. They even came back in the 9th losing 3-1, to tie it up with a rally that occurred after 2 outs and two strikes. To lose another series that way is tough.
I’m trying to dig back in my memory banks and remember if last year felt the same way. Last year the starters were hurting – Adam Eaton, Kyle Kendrick, and Brett Myers all struggled. The hitters also struggled – especially Ryan Howard. The bad fielding and baserunning of today aren’t indicative of this squad. Unfortunately Lidge giving up a costly run in the 9th and Durbin giving up 2 in the 10th after the Phils put together a nice comeback, is getting all too familiar.
Maybe President Obama will have some good advice for them tomorrow.
