The Phillies miss the Nationals

So I think I’ve figured out the problems the Phillies are having – they’re done playing the Nationals until September. Through May 31, the Phillies had played the Nationals 12 times out of 48 games. In those 12 games the Phillies went 10-2 which means in the non-Nationals portion of the schedule they were a .500 team at 18-18. Since June 1 the Phillies are 7-11.

The conclusion is obvious: what ails us can be treated by a simple visit to the Nation’s Capitol.

Of course that doesn’t happen until September 8 – so we may need to figure something else out.
