About Orangeliners

Welcome to Orangeliners.com.

My name is Spencer and I’ve been blogging rather actively for over four years.  My original blog, A Rubber Door, was supposed to be a master of all things.  As my other blog developed an audience, sports got pushed out because that’s not what my readers were interested in.

So here we are.

So you know more about me:

Favorite Team: I grew up idolizing the Phillies teams of the late 70’s early 80’s.  After 1993 though, they really made it hard for me and I admit to being more passionate about the Eagles as the years passed. My order of preference: Phillies, Eagles, Sixers, Flyers.

Andy Reid or Buddy Ryan? Are you kidding me?  What exactly did Buddy win?  And his teams were undisciplined and if you fault Reid for not winning, then how can you even mention Ryan’s name?

1980 or 2008 Phillies? Tough one – I was only  12 when the Phils won in 1980, so I’ll remember more details from 2008, but that team is what made me a baseball fan.  I dyed my baseball glove black just like Manny Trillo did.  I was so upset when I couldn’t get Luzinski’s #19 when I played summer league ball. They’re both special, but 1980 is just a little more special.

Most Heartbreaking moment: Hands down losing to the Panthers in the 2003 NFC Championship.  After 4 and 26 – I thought it was destiny. I nearly cried.

Favorite Players: Phillies – Mike Schmidt, Jimmy Rollins, and Steve Carlton.  Philadelphia Eagles: Reggie White, Brian Dawkins, and Wilbert Montgomery. Philadelphia 76ers: Dr. J, Bobby Jones, and Allen Iverson.  Flyers: Bobby Clarke and Ron Hextall.

Flyers note: I can’t promise to bring it when it comes to hockey – it’s just not my game.  Maybe we’ll add a writer when the season comes around.
